Pnei Kedem is one of the 22 communities of Gush Etzion located on the eastern side. This community is characterized by an ecological spirit that is reflected in various endeavors: an attempt to restore the region’s native Mediterranean woodlands; establishment of communal recycling stations; and promoting agricultural activity, including olive groves, vineyards, and raspberry plantations. Some residents of Pnei Kedem cooperate with the Jewish Agency in agricultural projects as a matter of ideological principle, along with their regular employment. The feeling in the community is dominated by a pioneering and settlement spirit
