Sde Boaz sits on the historical Path of the Forefathers that leads from the biblical fields of Boaz and Ruth in Judea to Jerusalem. Its unique watershed location, at an altitude of 1000m above sea level, offers a panoramic view of the mountains of Moab (Jordan), Jerusalem, the coastal plain, and the Mediterranean. Sde Boaz is the northernmost link in the chain of communities linking Gush Etzion with Jerusalem; hence its strategic and security value.
Sde Boaz is a unique community of 30 pioneering families with their 70 children – secular and religious, Israeli veterans and new immigrants – living harmoniously together. The community strives to promote Jewish settlement and Jewish labor in the construction its homes and its agriculture, with environmental awareness and social and communal involvement.
