Gush Etzion at Mini Israel

Located at the Latrun junction, Mini Israel, a miniature city featuring over 350 beautifully crafted exact-replica models of historical, religious, archaeological and modern sites, is Israel's newest and most exciting tourist attraction.

The Lone Oak Tree the symbol of
Gush Etzion has now become part of Mini Israel

Gershon Elionson

A few months ago, the director of the Department of Early Childhood in Gush Etzion began planning the annual end-of-the-year trip for the kindergartens. She thought that 'Mini Israel' would be an appropriate outing for the children considering the 60th anniversary festivities of the State of Israel. While checking the exhibit she saw that "Gush Etzion" did not appear. The Tomb of the Patriarchs and Rachel's Tomb did appear, but Gush Etzion was missing. She contacted the Mini Israel administration, called their attention to the absence of Gush Etzion and enlisted the help of the Department of Tourism of Gush Etzion. Mini Israel has now added the expo of the Lone Oak Tree which represents Gush Etzion.

The kindergarten-aged children of Gush Eztion will visit the site in the coming two weeks. The Mini Israel staff commented that this is the first time a new exhibit has been added as a result of a visitor's remark.
